HA HA HA!

So, Eric told me a few weeks ago that he got picked up at the park – of course, my interest was pecked – by a MOM or what? I NEED DETAILS and of course, like him and all his stories, the details were drawn out – give them to me quick and now! He was picked up BY A DAD, which, okay, I get wanting to hang out with someone of the adult age range while at the park watching your child run around like a mad child. We laughed it off and I told him he needed to make new friends! SO, last night his phone rings with a number he didn’t know, a quick voice mail later, and THE DAD called him to let him he and his child would at the park tonight at 6:30 – much politer than my pickups – we say, oh we might be there around 6:15! Of course I asked him, well how in the hell did he get your number?!?! Oh yeah, I gave it to him. WHAT? Seriously, Eric gave his number to this dad, so in my book it was a two way street on the pickup. Anyway, we were all at the park tonight and I SO wanted to see the dad, but we didn’t. Anyway, I just wish I could have been a fly out there when this went down because Eric isn’t a talker, so I am just not sure how the dad got the idea they were going to be buds???

Cruisin’

I am either still drunk, hung over or fell like I am still on a boat rocking – OH, I am ready to detox and get back to normal, lose my water weight and work up a sweat again.
The cruise was great and we had a fantastic time, just the two of us, relaxing, drinking, relaxing, drinking, reading, drinking, sleeping, eating, drinking, eating – I think you get the point – we didn’t do anything of importance for 4 whole days and it was amazing!
The highlights of the cruise were that I read two books – Chelsea Handler books that Amanda lent me and I laughed the whole time while reading them. And the best news is, I now think I am a comedian as well while using all her one liners.

While at Cozumel, Eric decided it was a good idea for us to rent a moped. I decided it was a good idea that I didn’t drive my own and opted to ride on the back of Eric’s. So after declining insurance, being assured we could not get lost on the island and getting a quick rundown of the how the moped turned on, we were off. Right out of the gate I was thinking this was a bad idea when I almost made myself throw up after a near miss of a huge iguana in the road and for some reason my reaction to this was gagging. After a short stop to look at the ocean, Eric maneuvered the moped back on the road, without me on it being as I was convinced him riding in the sand was not a good idea and we were back on the road. Not 2 minutes after being on the road, a bug flew and hit me in the face. I was ready to call this adventure done until we rode up to a local bar on the beach that served yummy michaladas but I couldn’t get my michalada until I got off the moped and burnt my leg on the exhaust pipe – thankfully the beer stand was a mere feet away and my wound is now healing nicely. Getting back through town was tricky and I knew mom was going to get a call from the Mexican medic telling her I was in the hospital there. Actually, it wasn’t that bad, but I was glad to be back on the boat, lounging with a drink in hand.

It was a wonderful get away but I was really ready to get home and hug and kiss Ian, A LOT! Trips are good but coming home is better.

Happy Easter

To everyone. We have had a great day thus far – the Easter bunny visited us last night and left Ian a Dora fishing pole – how did he know?!?! And way too much candy that Ian’s eyes lit up every time he opened another egg – it was precious and well worth the sugar crash.
Church was an amazing service. The music was great and the message was even better. I am not one to talk of my spirituality too openly because if someone doesn’t agree with me, that is fine, that is their choice, but I am not one to debate the subject. ANYWHO – the lesson today was of course of Easter but our minister put a new spin on it which really hit home with me. Jesus was all about forgiveness and we as followers should be the same. We shouldn’t hold grudges if someone doesn’t think the same way we do, we shouldn’t judge people for their actions, we should strive to see the light in each and every person we meet on a daily basis – MUCH easier said than done, but hey, we should all try – right?

And another interesting fact was learned today – the Easter lily takes 3 – 4 yrs to cultivate the bulb and then with the exact right timing, the bulb is removed from the ground and shipped to the greenhouses which plant them and ultimately help them grow into the plants we refer to as Easter Lilies. And lilies signify forgiveness – SO, where am I am going with this? If the bulb to grow a lily takes that much time, patience and love to cultivate only one flower, then how much time does forgiveness take? We need to look at forgiveness as on-going process within ourselves and to the world.

My prayer for today: Dear Lord, please help me go through this day with no judgments upon myself or others and forgiveness for all.
